"One of your mirrors has been taken." ― AKOSEL, after the player is kicked from the game.
Overview[]
AKOSEL is the first game a hunter would join when hunting AxisKetels. It serves as a game hub with three teleports, shown in-game as “Mirrors” , to different places. Each mirror is in its own small environment which essentially serves as a preview of where the player will be teleporting to. There are also symbols on the walls and on the floor. The first mirror takes the player to “The House”, which is a house that is owned by one of the members of “The A K O S E L project”. “The House” is a game in which the player explores inside the house and the surroundings, in order to try and gather more information on where they have been teleported to through one of AKOSEL’s mirrors.
Walkthrough[]
Once the player joins AKOSEL, a title screen showing three options is shown on the screen. These are “Play”, “Quit” (kicks the player from the game) and “Credits” (shows the player who helped with the game). The player should click on “Play”, and they will load into the game. After the player clicks on “Play”, they will earn a badge with the name “Welcome to AKOSEL”.
The player spawns standing on a colourful looking floor, right in front of a spinning sphere shaped mechanism, with the colours yellow and orange shining bright as it spins. Once the player looks around the game, they can see many cog shapes on the walls and around the teleports. The player can walk around to find 3 coloured portals, all in rooms of different settings. The player can choose which one to walk into, and their choice will decide which game they are teleported to.
The player should walk up to the grey room, with the blue cog shape on the wall. Around this room, there are four small pillars in each corner of the room, made with different shades of blue. In the left corner of the room, there is a tiny blue flower. The player will immediately notice the circles on grey pillars around this room, and the glowing pink portal. This portal is “The First Mirror” out of the three that are found here. Once the player walks into this mirror, they will be teleported to “The House”.
Once the player joins “The House”, they spawn on a spinning cog shape. The shape is glowing orange and purple, with the purple cog smaller than the orange one. The player can see the setting of this game is gloomy, and fog fills the air. When the player walks forward, they can see stairs leading up to a house. Surrounding the house, the player can also see light grey shapes that look like stickmen, the same shape that was seen at The First Mirror (around the teleport).
To the players right, they can see a treehouse. Once they climb up the ladder onto the main part of the treehouse, they can see a painting and a radio (this is where the player would earn the “Ollies Treehouse” badge). When they walk up to the radio, they are teleported to a different room. This room has a bright red checkered floor, surrounding the walls and the floors. Shapes like circles and squares can be seen, whilst the wall is dark red.
The player can walk forward to find a large circle with three smaller circles taken out of the center of it on the wall. If the player goes up to this circle, they are kicked from the game with the message “One of your mirrors has been taken.” The player should now rejoin, and go to the left side of the house. What the player should see is a wavy wooden bridge, leading to a tall, narrow building. Once the player goes inside this building, they can see notes scattered around three tables. Beside this, the player can see a spiral staircase made out of wood. When the player walks up this spiral staircase, they find more scattered notes and a giant telescope (once they look through this, they can see the stars).
After this, the player should go back to the house, and walk inside. Once the player goes inside the house, they can see boxes on the floor, a static tv and a kitchen. The kitchen floor has a pattern of blue, red and yellow, in the shape of squares. The TV makes noise, indicating that it isn’t working at the moment. The player soon discovers there is an upstairs to this house too, and once they walk up the stairs can see a black/grey sofa with blue cushions, and boxes all around the floor. The player can also see a window in front of them too, with blue curtains.
As soon as the player walks up the stairs, to their right they can see a door with a blue frame. Once the player opens the door, they find out it is a bedroom. Another static tv can be found in here, and a toy box at the foot of the bed. On the floor, there are four colourful carpets and a game of Jenga (If the player walks near this Jenga set, they earn a badge called “Jenga!”). The player should walk out of this room, and find another door. This one found straight in front of the sofa, near the boxes. The player should open this door to find a chair in the corner of the room, and in the center of the room a bed. Beside the bed, there are some wooden drawers. Behind the door, a bookshelf is hidden, on this bookshelf are books and a snow globe (the snow globe has members of the myth in it).
Once the player goes back downstairs in the house, they discover a hole in the wall. This hole shows the player what is on the other side of the wall, and that is a basement. The player should open the door in front of them, and go into the basement. When the player goes into the basement, they can see another chair, drawers that are broken and a machine in the corner of the room. Boxes are surrounding the place, of all different sizes. To the players left, there is a brown door. They should open this door and walk through to find a bedroom, with eight papers scattered all over the floor. Once the player looks to their left, they can see a cupboard. They find out that in this cupboard is a radio, playing calm music. The player should walk out of this room, and go over to the machine in the corner of the room. Beside this machine, there is a hole in the ground. Once the player stands on this, they get teleported underground.
Underground, the player can discover a grey plate on the ground. When the player goes to stand on this, the plate turns bright red. This earns them a badge called “Hidden Doors”. If the player stands on this plate for a few seconds, it finally turns green and opens to reveal a secret passage. The player should enter this secret room, and walk down the stairs to reveal a room full of colourful cogs on the walls. The room is quite narrow, and the player should walk left to find a black mirror, with red and blue colours surrounding it. After the player walks into this mirror, they are teleported to “The Lab”.
The second mirror’s theme is like a desert, with six sandstone pillars surrounding the room. The player can see four sandstone stairs leading up to another mirror, which this time it is glowing red. A tall yellow sunflower stands beside the mirror, and has a green stem. Once the player walks into this mirror, they will be teleported to the game called “The City”.
The last mirror can be found in a room with a glowing mushroom that the player sees instantly as they walk in. If the player looks up onto the metal wall above them, they can see three glowing cog shapes. The colours of these shapes are green, red and blue. When the player walks through the door frame to the main part of this room, they can see two machines going up and down, compressing air with them. Once the player looks to their left, they can see a dark red/black mirror in front of them. Once the player walks into the mirror, they are teleported to ”The Lab”.
History[]
In March of 2007, the player known as AxisKetels created AKOSEL.
The game AKOSEL was first created on 5/8/17, and was last updated on 10/22/20. One of the first updates that was made is when the mirrors would open, which was on May 14th. The games “AKOSEL”, “The City” and “The Lab” combined on 7/7/20 to make nearly 10,000 visits. Next update was on August 11th - 15th (of last year), this was the last day of when AKOSEL characters became active.
On 3/2/21, the last update to AKOSEL was made, which was adding Puzzles, NPC and Dialogues.
Trivia[]
- The game “AKOSEL” has four games badges that players can earn.
Theories[]
- The mirrors found in “AKOSEL” take the player somewhere within the planet, though the portals found in other games (such as “The Lab”) are more “eccentric mirrors”.
- AxisKetel’s has mentioned in an interrogation about this, quoting that “the farther you go, the harder it is to get back.”
- Once the player walks through the mirrors in AKOSEL and explores the place they have ended up in, they usually have easy access to another portal, leading to another mirror somewhere in the game. As AxisKetels said, these mirrors are closer to “AKOSEL” than “The Labs” mirrors, so switching through mirrors is way easier.
