"Maybe it really is the start of a new day." ― Description of CEGNITE

CEGNITE reveals many islands with different areas of the lore behind Cegnite. The game’s story is about how Cegnite left home, eventually becoming an alcoholic and trying to find his father after going through trials and tribulations.

Overview[]

CEGNITE is a game created by Cegnite. The game is a trigger-style myth, consisting of different islands that can be unlocked in a succession. Each island conveys its own part of the story, incorporating Cegnite’s avatar in different settings. The story on the second part of the island shows the player how Cegnite left home by presenting Cegnite and his father, Forlak, walking in opposite directions. Then, on the third part, Cegnite is sat beside a grave he made for his parents as he is unsure whether they are dead or alive since he is unable to find them even though he is trying to find his father. Then on the fourth part of the island, it shows how Cegnite starts to become an alcoholic, indicated by the surrounding empty alcohol bottles and him being slumped in a chair. It also shows Cegnite and DaxHaskett finding each other, and bonding over their guitars. At the end of the game, there is a portal that seems like it will be linked to FORLAK.

Walkthrough[]

Once the player spawns, there will be a grave in front of them with a “C” on the headstone. On the left of them is a path with a small wooden bridge. Under the bridge is a rock with the letter "E" on it. If the player touches it, their screen will turn gray and will reveal more of the island. On the new land, there are two pathways. The left path has Cegnite and his father, Forlak, walking away from each other. The player can find the letter “E” on the side of the right path which will do the same as the previous letter when touched. The player can now see Cegnite sitting next to a headstone with a note next to it. The note says "I made this grave for my parents." The letter "N" is in front of Cegnite on the side of the terrain. The fourth part of the island features DaxHaskett walking across a railroad while something catches his eye, along with many glass bottles spread across the place. Nearby should be a rock with the letter "I" on it that the player can touch. Touching it will make Cegnite sitting in a chair with multiple glasses next to him spawn. On his right, there is an “T” but it will not do anything when interacted with. The player will need to travel back to the grave that they spawned in front of and touch the "C" on it. This will make the game dark and a new area will spawn near Forlak. On the recently generated land is a portal and an "E" in the water. The letter does nothing and the portal will not teleport the player, but it is assumed it will teleport them to FORLAK in the future.

In FORLAK, the player can see Forlak sitting on a deck while playing a violin. If the player touches the grave on the island, it will turn night and more of the deck will spawn. The player can find an “F” on the island, but it does nothing and it seems to be the end of the game.

History[]

CEGNITE was created on 12/25/2017 which is the same day Cegnite’s account was created. It was last updated on 8/2/2019. On April 17th, 2018, the popular YouTuber, Enszo, made a video about Cegnite. He would again make another video on Cegnite on May 8th, 2018. Both of these videos brought a decent amount of popularity to the games. The games were a lot different in these videos, but they had some aspects that the game still has.

On 7/16/2021, Cegnite would completely revamp CEGNITE, changing almost the whole game. Most of the story and mechanics of the game stayed the same.

Trivia[]

  • According to Roblox, CEGNITE was created a day before the account, Cegnite, was created.
  • Cegnite is one of several myths who are canonically LGBTQ+

Theories[]

  • In the end, the mother of Cegnite dies
    • In FORLAK, there’s a grave with text introducing another character referenced as “Kay.” The text preceding this, “find our boy,” indicates that this is a direct conversation between two characters. Assuming that the boy is Cegnite and knowing this is a gravestone with the father still alive playing the violin on the docks, we can assume that the grave belongs to Cegnite’s mother and Kay is Forlak.
  • Cegnite left his parents
    • You can see Forlak and Cegnite walking in opposite directions on one of the islands.
    • The notes by the parents’ grave which say how Cegnite does not know if they are dead or alive.
    • You can see the father alone in a house looking at a photograph of Cegnite.
