"Just around the corner you'll find a park square filled with books and a slight hint of coffee. You can even have a snowball fight! You can't help but feel an odd sense of reminiscence." ― Description

Downtown, Brooklyn is a game created by “Ignite”, a group connected to holoville. Here, the player is able to explore a small area within Brooklyn, New York, including a library and coffee shop. Within this city block, visitors are able to uncover deeper information regarding the characters Gary, Larry, Joey, and Guy, comparing their real-life counterparts to holoville.

Overview[]

Downtown, Brooklyn takes place 11 years in the past of the current date. Throughout Downtown, Brooklyn, the player can interact with many messages found around the map, though there is currently no known way of progression. The game has a unique, detailed building style as compared to the simpler design of holoville, the preceding game. Downtown, Brooklyn takes place after the events of Gary's dream, holoville, as he has become friends with the other residents, something he wanted to do after waking up.

Walkthrough[]

The player spawns in front of a library. They find themselves in a large map full of structures to explore. The player can first enter “Brooklyn’s Bloom Library”. Outside of the library the player will find a small boombox, hovering over it the player will see the words “CoryaYo - 1955”. Inside the library, the player can find a large assortment of different-colored books in bookshelves and tables for guests. In the further right corner of the library the player can find a piggy bank and some chalk, by hovering their mouse over them it reads, “Just some chalk laying around, a piggy bank too.”  On one of the tables the player will find a book called “The Sound of Waves”, on another table they will find one called “Fahrenheit 451”. Heading upstairs to the second floor of the library the player will find some more bookshelves along with some tables for visitors to sit and read at. At the first table the player will find an open book titled “To Kill a Mockingbird”.

Back outside, the player can head to the left of the library and find a shop called “Downtown Coffee House.” Outside the stop are tables with some flowers and a Coke on them. Near the entrance there is a sign written with smudged chalk supposedly reading “Happy Sunday” with a smiley face below it. Hovering over the sign a message will read “Somebody got a little lazy with writing these." Inside the shop are some tables along with some minimalist paintings on the wall. On the right there are three paintings. In the top left corner, a painting of a black and white cat can be found named “Emery”. To its right is an odd, abstract painting of a figure called “Ripped Glory”. Below the previous painting to the left is a painting of another figure titled “Any Sign of Trouble?” Near the front of the shop are two paintings, one is of an apple called “Desolate Apple” and the other is of a mug called “Vanilla Mug”.  To the right, below the menu in the bartender area, the player can find a necklace. Hovering over this necklace reveals a message, “A shiny red pendant. Who's is it?"

To the left of the coffee shop the player can find a shady alley full of different graffiti and spilled garbage on the floor. They consist of a “Rogy” graffiti, CatMan, a rapper, an orange, and a DJ. Hovering over the orange graffiti, it will read “Who made this freaky looking orange?”

Back near spawn the player can head to the middle of the map by entering the gate closest to spawn. The player will find an abandoned bicycle and some doodles on the floor with the message “A doodled up game of hopscotch.” The doodles include the names Joey and Gary. The player can find mainly benches, water dispensers, and bird baths throughout this grassy area. In the middle is a large, wooden structure with lights that can protect residents from rain or sun during events.

In the winter update, a few additional details were added. Additional graffiti was added to the alleyway, and a note that reads "Stop the vandalism!! -Larry B." Hovering over the note, it says "Somebody didn't like this series..." In the coffee house is an iPod behind a flower vase with the words, "An iPod with the words 'Property of: Larry Burhan' on the back."
