Enrique Graves

Enrique_Graves is one of the doctors of the Department of Mental Assistance, whose main objective is to "save the human race from itself", together with Bart_Montgomery and Ipiprix. Many attempts to cure mortality will be created, but will always end up failing. However, the discovery of creatures called Mindwalkers will lead to the creation of a promising new cure, called Cure#49, but things will not go as planned.

Biography[]

Enrique_Graves or Graves, is one of the doctors in the Mental Assistance Department, also run by Ipiprix and Bart_Montgomery. He is the former student of Bart, and also interested in the concept of immortality. He was invited to take part in an expedition in a desert where he will be introduced to Ipiprix. This expedition was set up in order to find the last of the Nephilim, Immortius, as they are immortal creatures. After solving riddles that keeped him out of reach, they finally found him, chained in a cave for eons. The doctors took his eye, as they thought the secret of Nephilim's immortality was in their blood. From these experiences, Cure#4 will be created, but discontinued and classed as a failure. At the same time, Graves will marry his beloved, with whom he will unfortunately not be able to spend much time, as he is busy with the work on the cures.

Later on, true_faces, who was a friend of Graves before these events, will come to him to seek help, this one being in a severe depression after the death of his girlfriend. Graves, with the other doctors, will propose him to join the experiments regarding Cure#49, as this one would keep and prevent his happiest memories from being tainted by his current sanity. However, Cure#49 will turn out to have many dangerous side effects, leading to Bart_Montgomery’s disappearance,

After Bart's disappearance and the Ipiprix' odd behavior, Enrique eventually finds out what happened to Bart, as well as the numerous patients' death caused by Cure#49 experiments. Wanting to expose Ipiprix, he does some research on the location of the place the head doctor went months ago, where he came back changed, and which is most likely the Source to all of this madness. Later, Graves will steal Ipiprix's car to go to this accursed location, called the Mountains of Madness. He will end up discovering the source, which turned out to be the mindwalkers, but will never return to the department to confirm it, as he's being killed in the underground of the mountains by one of them. His death deeply affected his wife, who began to think that Graves had abandoned her to run away with another woman, until the player arrives at her house and tells her what happened: Graves did not run away, but sacrificed himself by discovering the truth about what would have been a worldwide calamity.

Enrique_Graves joined Roblox on 7/7/2018, and created SOURCE on 7/11/2018. On 06/30/2021, a part of Grave’s clothes glitched, leading to a change in the outfit.

Appearance[]

Enrique_Graves’ current avatar consists of the “Brown Trench Coat”, “Beige Jeans”, “Fabulous Hair”, “Doctor’s Reflector” accessory, and the “Downcast” face. Before the glitch happened in the catalog, Graves’ avatar was wearing the “Long wool blazer sleeves” and “GUCCI long wool blazer w white shirt & black lv pa”.

Personality[]

Enrique_Graves is a young man, who like Ipiprix and Bart, is interested in the concept of immortality. Enrique is most likely studious and intelligent, as Bart refers to him as the brightest student he ever taught. Graves is good at solving puzzles and riddles, an ability that was useful in the expedition for the Eye of Immortius. He is also enthusiastic about the various experiments involving cures for mortality.

After the events of Cure#49, he wanted to expose the activities of the department and the guilt of Ipiprix, although he will not have the opportunity due to him being killed by Mindwalkers. Throughout the department and at SOURCE are notes warning the player not to believe Ipiprix. Despite his death, Graves will have left many clues to help the player to find the truth and the source of this madness, in order to put an end to it.

Graves’ skin is white, symbolizing his death. He didn’t turn grey as Ipiprix or Bart as he wasn’t alive anymore during the mindwalker operation.

Enrique_Graves is ranked as “Doctor” in the group, who runs the department alongside Bart_Montgomery and Ipiprix.

Ipiprix[]

Ipiprix is one of the three doctors who work at the Mental Assistant Department, as well being its founder and head doctor. Graves meets him for the first time during an expedition to a desert. From this time, the three doctors will work together on projects to search for a cure for mortality. After the events regarding Cure#49, Graves became suspicious towards him, mostly because of his odd behavior since his return to the Mountains of Madness.

Bart_Montgomery[]

Bart_Montgomery works alongside Ipiprix and Enrique_Graves at the Mental Assistant Department. He was Graves’ teacher in the past, and introduced him to Ipiprix to be part of the expedition to search for a cure for mortality.

true_faces[]

True_faces and Graves already knew each other before the Cure#49 incidents. As his friend, Graves was also true’s doctor, and later a psychiatrist. The doctors will introduce him later to the experiments regarding Cure#49.

Theories[]

The Mothership is a Lovecraftian entity of sorts that resides underneath SOURCE
- The creator of the MAD series makes many references to Lovecraft, particularly the novella Mountains of Madness.
- The similarities in Mountains of Madness to the storyline of the myth are striking: a team of educated men stumble upon a dangerous secret in an expedition and at least one goes mad in the process.
- Much like how the deities of Lovecraft slumber below the Earth, the massive Mothership lies dormant underneath the Mountains of Madness.
- The immortal character in the hidden messages may allude to the Mothership.

SOURCE appears to be where the Mindwalkers come from, or at least originate
- SOURCE itself is a tower-looking structure and the inscription on a statue of Immortius implies that the Mindwalkers reside in the tower (“The spiders in the tower made promises”).
- There is a red beam which is similar to the bright-red of the Mindwalker eyes.
- The Mothership resides inside of SOURCE.
- Mindwalkers are required to extract Cure #49, so stopping Ipiprix/the Mindwalkers at their source might indicate that the Source correlates with the source of the Mindwalkers, not necessarily the source of Cure #49.

Trivia[]

Enrique is the youngest of the three doctors.
Some events and characters of Grave’s backstory, such as his wedding, are only found post-game. After meeting some requirements, a portal to this place will open somewhere in SOURCE. The sample of Graves' Cure#49 is seen in this same place.
Graves has his own document, mostly about the expedition regarding Cure#4.
