"A GATEWAY" ― Description of GATEWAY
GATEWAY is a game created by beysan, acknowledged by hunters for it’s amazing building and overall unique concept. It became popular in late-2020, and early-2021, but it would eventually be discontinued.
Overview[]
GATEWAY is a game created by beysan. It features many notable items to find to progress throughout the game, each having some sort of relation to the story, such as a cross. Posters can also be found around some of the game, these being missing posters for children that Beysan seems to have kidnapped. GATEWAY also seems to be related to satanic themes as a ritual, crosses, and even a bible are present among the islands. The player often travels by boat across the ocean where they can eventually come across an abnormal office, which is supposedly the end of the game due to it being discontinued.
Walkthrough[]
Once the player spawns, they will be on a small island with a few others around them. Around them are a few trees which all have a name, as well as a rock. On the nearest tree is an apple that can be clicked. Doing this will cause it to fall and make a few things around the map change, such as a bridge spawning, giving access to an island with a note. The note reads “ ‘’HAVE YOU SEEN ME’’ WITH A PICTURE OF A BLUE KID”. Next, the player can find a cross on the side of the first island near the tree. Clicking it will make the world become darker with what seems to be a ritual, replacing the picnic. On the second island that the player accessed, there is now a grave which can be clicked too. This will cause the sky to become much darker and two bridges will spawn connected to the original island. One island should be on the player’s left and another on their right.
If the player decides to take the left path, they can find a ringing phone lying on the island as well as a teleport. Walking onto the island will teleport the player to “1 2”. The message “FINALLY, AFTER ALL THAT BOATING I AM HERE.” Ahead of the player are many more phones, and a strange root-like object with the text “IT HAD TO HAPPEN, BEYSAN”. Next to it is a tree with another apple to be clicked. This will spawn a bridge to another island with a cave. Inside of this cave are a few pieces of paper and body parts. The notes read “POLICE INTERVIEW WITH MULTIPLE SUSPECT”, “YET ANOTHER MISSING PERSON CASE IN SOURVILLE COUNTY”, “ ‘’CAN ANYBODY FIND ME?’’ WITH A PICTURE OF A SALMON RED KID”. Two arms are on the other side of the cave with the texts “HE DIDN’T EVEN FINISH THEM…” and “WHY DIDN'T HE ACCEPT MY OFFERING?” attached to them. On the floor is a cross that can be collected, making another bridge appear. The next island has another root-like object that can be clicked but also has the message “IT WASN’T MY FAULT”. Clicking it will bring the player back to GATEWAY.
Proceeding onto the island on the right will teleport the player to the game “1”. The player will be inside of a brick room with some furniture around. In front of them is a floating cross which they can collect. Another cross can be found on the shelf to their left. Also on the shelf is a gold bar or golden brick that can be clicked. It’s use is unknown. In the corner of the room is a chair with a small doll on it. Underneath it should be a bible which can also be collected. The final item is behind the painting near the door. There is also a piece of paper on the wall that reads “ ‘’WHERE AM I?’’ WITH A PICTURE OF A YELLOWIN KID SWINGING FROM A TREE”. After all of the items are collected, the door will open and the player can enter, teleporting them to “2”. The player will spawn in a larger room with a few things to find around it. Ahead of them is a shelf with a note on it that reads, “THEYY HIDE IN PALIN SIGHT!”. To their left should be an open wall that has the message “STRANGE...” To the right of the door of which they entered, the number 7 is hidden on the wall. The second number is on the right of the door connected to the hallway. This number is 2. The next number is in the hallway and behind the boxes, which is 3. The end of the hall is blocked by a dresser which can be pushed down. In the last room, the player can find the number 1 above the doorway of the hall. Then, the code “7231” can be entered into the keypad. This will open the door leading the player back outside where they can find a broken bridge. At the end of the bridge is a boat which can teleport the player to “3” when touched.
The player will spawn in the water, presumably falling off their boat. They can then search for the boat, and once clicked they will be teleported to an odd office. The room is colorful, a speaker seems to be speaking some language, and the door is a mouth. Using a Caesar code translator, the phrases, “Three dead”, “one with no head”, “the others with no arms”, “Bring them back to me” can be obtained. It is most likely referring to what was previously found in "1 2", but it is unknown if anything can be done at this point.
History[]
GATEWAY was created on 11/7/2020, and was last updated on 5/21/2021. It started to gain recognition soon after it’s creation, because he would start to join groups such as RMH Myth Development and Mythsman: Myth Investigation Service. GATEWAY went through many revamps, changing the building style of the game, puzzles, and even the entire story. It’s last update was on the day that beysan retired.
Trivia[]
- There are many “dead ends” in the game, such as the gold bar that can be collected.
- The teleports are sometimes bugged, so the player might have to rejoin.

- The mouth door seen in “3” can be opened from “1 2”.
- The speaker next to the door asks about bringing the remains of the children that are seen in “1 2”.
