"An Evil Guest" ― The text said to appear when a player hovers their mouse over Guest 666
Guest 666 is an old Roblox legend and creepypasta who was rumored to have abilities which regular guests did not have, such as being able to speak in games, use admin commands. This legend has existed since the creation of guests in 2008, but became popularized in 2017 when the Roblox YouTuber "ObliviousHD" would create a series about Guest 666. Since the removal of guests in 2017, the Guest 666 rumor has largely died down.
Biography
Due to the age of this myth, the story of Guest 666 has changed many times. Despite this, the general idea of Guest 666 has always been that they were a guest with abilities which regular guests do not have. Many stories also state that Guest 666 is evil, with some stating that he is a demon or a guest, or that they are simply a hacker.
History
Unlike most myths, it is not known exactly when the Guest 666 rumor began, although it is believed to have happened soon after the creation of Guests in September 2008. Early on, Guest 666 would not be the only Guest related creepypasta, as there was also "Guest 1337" and "Guest 0", who had similar rumors spread about them early on.
It is not known exactly when this technique was discovered, but at some point people would discover that using browser extensions such as "Edit This Cookie" would allow the user to be able to change their guest ID. Prior to this it was likely that most sightings of Guest 666 were by chance. This did not grant the player the ability to speak or have Admin abilities though, meaning this rumor has likely never had an ounce of truth behind it.
Eventually in 2017, the popular myth YouTuber "ObliviousHD" would create a video entitled "Guest 666 (Roblox Animation)". This video would help popularize the Guest 666, with this being the reason for many discovering the legend. Later on, a second video would be created by "ObliviousHD" entitled "Guest 666: Part 2 (Roblox Animation)". After the creation of these videos, Roblox announced the removal of Guests in October 2017, the myth itself largely ceased to exist as it was impossible to see or play as Guest 666 following the update.
Appearance
It is assumed that Guest 666 looked the way any normal guest would (which changed multiple times with various Roblox updates). ObliviousHD's rendition of Guest 666, which could be argued to be the most popular rendition of the legend, uses the 2011 appearance of Guest 666, with pitch black skin and glowing red eyes.
Personality and Traits
It was said that Guest 666 would use admin commands and chat when in-game, which was something normal guests couldn't do. However do to the myth being fake it is very likely these are all just speculations and rumors. Unlike the other guests, Guest 666 was supposedly capable of using chat to view messages and talk themselves. It is also stated in many stories of the myth that they are evil or malicious.
Trivia
- In "ObliviousHD"'s game "ObliviousHD Roleplay World", the player can summon Guest 666, who can kill the player if he catches them. Both surviving and being killed, as well as summoning him, give the player badges.
- There are also two other games centered around the identity of Guest 666, amassing over 4,5 million visits in total.
- There is a badge dedicated to Guest 666 in the game "The Myth Hunt" developed by Enszo.
- Interestingly, both registered users by the names of Guest_666 and Guest666 are banned. It is very likely that these accounts would be password-guessed by other players, with that being the reasoning for the termination of the accounts.
