RUST_010 (referred to as RUST for short) is a retired myth/myth inspired developer. He is most well known for his affiliations with mrflimflam. He created his account in 2017 and became popular in 2018, when he began getting coverage from the Roblox YouTuber Flamingo. He was somewhat active until 2020, when he retired his myth and went inactive. Later on in 2021, he would begin creating Roblox YouTube videos under the RUST name, which is what he mainly does now.
Biography
As confirmed by RUST himself in his video "Explaining My RUST_010 Roblox Games", RUST originally had no planned story, and was made for fun. It is said that later on, RUST began developing a slight story, although there was never much of a cohesive idea.
History
RUST_010 joined Roblox on the 28th of July, 2017. Little is known about the earliest parts of their history, but it is known that their game "R U S T" on November 12th, 2017. This game did appear to get some traction, reaching around 900 visits as of January 2018. In the same month, Flamingo would create his video "i'm not safe on roblox anymore...". In this video, Flamingo would play RUST at the recommendation of a YouTube commenter, and would enjoy the game.
Four days later, a second video by Flamingo would be uploaded, with this one being solely focused on RUST and his games. This resulted in a series of 16 whole videos, focused on RUST and his games. Around July 2018, he would take a slight hiatus from making these videos, and then returning to them in October of the same year.
In March 2019, Flamingo would create his last video on RUST. After this video, it appears that RUST went on a hiatus. Notably, in May 2020, RUST retired his myth officially after assets of his were leaked and made accessible. After this, in February 2021, RUST would upload his first ever YouTube video, entitled "The Roblox Town Experience". This video was a very noticeable departure from his myth endeavours, being a comedic Roblox video in the game "be dead forever simulator".
After this, RUST would make more videos, all of them being entirely separate from his myth. This changed in July 2023, when he created his video "Explaining My RUST_010 Roblox Games", in which he discussed his games and showed a behind the scenes view of them. Eleven days later RUST uploaded a second video, explaining how he created all his games, and showing off how someone could make their own games like his. After these videos, he returned to creating regular content again.
Legacy
RUST_010 became the first myth/myth inspired game developer to have a series on the Flamingo YouTube channel, which makes him one of the key factors behind the creation of Flamingo's influential myth series.
Controversy/Drama
Mainly during the time of his activity, RUST_010 was seen as a controversial by some in the community. There were multiple reasons for this, such as his games falling more under the "horror game" genre as opposed to the myth genre, and the quality of his games being sub-par. He was also controversial due to him only becoming popular by association with Flamingo, who was also controversial during his early days in the community. As time has gone on, many have accepted him as a myth and remember him fondly, while others still don't like his myth.
Appearance
He is seen usually wearing a rusty t-shirt, with a salmon colored torso, white arms and head, and light blue legs, in an R15 avatar look. His face appearance is always a smile. Beyond that, he has also worn many different accessories.
Personality and Traits
RUST_010's main goal was to stalk the Roblox YouTuber Flamingo (Also known as both Albert and mrflimflam). He has made eight games, they seemingly have an underlying story which becomes apparent in this Flamingo's video "ROBLOX... I MET RUST_010 " at the 14 minute-20 seconds mark.
RUST_010 acts suspiciously, preferring to be around just Albert and is never found in any games that are not his own. When he chats, RUST_010 commonly uses the smiley face emoticon. Less commonly using "r u still there," which Albert found out in a video that the first letters of "r u still there" spelled out "r u s t," which is the name of his Roblox group.
RUST_010 has also displayed emotions similar to the symptoms of Bipolar disorder. He has shown auras of professionalism and disinterest while talking, only to break out in fury and terror a few moments later.
Another notable thing is RUST likes to use alternate accounts, or as Albert refers to them, "spies". The first and most notable of his being jimmybiscuit74; though if RUST actually uses alternate accounts or "spies" is yet to be confirmed.
Also, he talks about "it", however, that is specifically rare. His profile says things such as "ERROR" or "SYSTEM FAILURE", making him seem like an A.I.
