"I'm not Crazy.

Stop calling me Crazy.''"

― SmithCult

SmithCult was a popular myth, known for being was the first patriarch of the myth group The Cult Family prior to the Reformations. It was confirmed by BrandonCult on the forums that his father was mentally ill in July of 2012, and that his insanity was likely the reason for his peculiar behavior. He would later be terminated for bypassing and spamming and potentially the content of his game The Forest.

Biography[]

SmithCult was defined as a "Smith": a normal American man with nothing special or remarkable about him. He presented himself as a normal man with a wife named MarthaCult and a son named BrandonCult, he would post family photos with mysteriously named captions about how his wife and son were right next to him but as others pointed out the photos were only him by himself. His bio consisted of mentioning how he had just gotten out of an insane asylum and he was happy to be with his family again. During this time he would make multiple games with a forest as it's setting, disturbingly he would add a character named Steve who was hung in these games in the forest. Some of Smith's games included but not limited to: a lake, The Smith Household, a forest and just Steve himself in the forest.

His decals would become the point of discussion as a black figure could be seen behind him, originally people believed this to be Smith's alter ego but it was revealed later on by Smith himself this black figure was someone known as Martin. A few months into the story Smith would kill himself with a shotgun out of the blue once this was done other members followed suit leading to Grandpa and Don's death in the story. David would proclaim on the forums that Smith is dead and his entire family was also dead leaving him the last survivor with Martin. After this point the story of Smith would become unknown as most of it could be seen as a prequel or a continuation of David surviving.

History[]

SmithCult's rise to popularity started on the 29th of June in 2012, a day after his account was created, where he posted links to a variety of decals he created. He was created by a person who got out of a mental asylum after nine years was the folktale spread over the years. However, officially it does not mention a specific amount of years or Smith being a person behind the screen only that he was in an asylum for a "period of time". Likely his account was created as a troll account based on the Smith's group that Stickmasterluke created, his old forum posts and outfit follow the guidelines placed in the group very closely[1].

It should be noted that the only canon members of his family originally in 2012 were BrandonCult and MarthaCult in technicality and he never personally confirmed that any member of the Cult Family that exists today is in fact related to him. He confirmed later on in an interview around 2013 that MartinCult was a friend of his rather than related directly and that DavidCult was a killing partner, during the early ages though he was seen in Robloxian Myth Hunters group along side DavidCult and AkaManah leading to some sort of connection whether blood or not. This would actually confirm all the way back in 2013 that the Cult Family itself was not a blood related family but rather a cult of individuals working towards a goal.

He continued to post links to decals and reply to the comments of his decals and various posts on the forums. But after 2013 he discontinued this trend and went for a more "trolling" orientated forum and account history. Sometime in 2014 for an unknown reason (most likely the trolling above) he made four posts on the forums where he insulted people and bypassed the word "motherf**ker" all copy and pasted, this is very likely the cause of his termination, not his decals. The Forest was completely wiped during this time, it is unknown if this was done by Roblox due to the many suicide references or Smith himself.

The character himself would be given a new account on the 27th of January, 2018, as SmithCultsSpirit for a short time, but after 2019 this was retired by Martin as he completely removed the Spirits accounts as a whole.

On 10/8/2022 the character was finally given an account by the Cult Family Rebirth named SmCult.

Appearance[]

SmithCults original avatar appears as a bald Caucasian male wearing a light blue suit, using a t-shirt and skin color, and dark blue pants using skin color as well. Mentioned by a user on the forums, he also had a mime mask.

Personality and Traits[]

Smith presents himself as a kind and loving gentlemen, he could be seen saying many lines taken from the Smith's group by Stickmasterluke (formerly). He would be willing to answer questions that others had for him, however, if others mentioned that his family was dead he would become defensive and even threaten the person who brought up the question. He seemed to be kind generally though and also had mysterious aspects embedded in his character.

Relationships[]

MarthaCult[]

Smith's wife, she later was killed by Smith in both versions of the story.

DavidCult[]

Although originally considered Smith and Martha's son by David himself in the older days around 2012, it was confirmed later on that David was not blood related by Smith and merely someone he worked close with as a "killing partner".

LenzCult[]

Lenz self proclaimed himself as Smith's son and believed himself to be the murderer of Smith, however, this is not actually confirmed by Smith and is merely a self told story.

BrandonCult[]

Smith and Martha's son, confirmed by Smith in 2012.

Theories[]

  • SmithCult has schizophrenia.
    • SmithCult mentioned multiple times that he was in a mental asylum prior to him joining ROBLOX.
    • SmithCult claimed to have a friend named "Steve", who was a dead body hanging from a tree.
    • He consistently claimed that Martha and Brandon were in his decals despite them not being in it.

Trivia[]

  • Smith's account was likely terminated for a variety of posts to the Roblox forums made in 2014 where he bypassed multiple swear words, not for his decals like many theorize.
  • It was believed by BrandonCult that every member of The Cult Family created to this day wasn't related to the original Cults, as Brandon, Martha, and Smith were the only members, and other people simply added onto it without their permission, and myth hunters went along with the new members as being actually directly related to the original three. However, due to SmithCult himself being in the Robloxian Myth Hunters group and acknowledging MartinCult, GrandpaCult, DonCult and DavidCult as a character early on. This could be seen as subjective information provided by Brandon.
  • SmithCult's true identity has never been revealed, even to people like jokerkid5898, who have worked with him in the past. However, there have been theories based on posts made on who he could of been.
  • SmithCult was created as apart of the "Smiths", a joke group created by stickmasterluke in 2011.
