"A memory of what it once was." ― Description of Story Time

Story Time is a place in which Mopherius shares stories that either he or others create, usually relating to a certain group of shadow people or corruption. Mopherius’ place holds some connection to a group of bees that his daughter encountered, forever changing the course of his life.

Overview[]

Story Time showcases the mysterious character, Mopherius, and how he handles his open theater where he tells stories to the occasional guest, but as the player heads backstage, they will begin to uncover some dark truths about the man, and how he may have lost himself through his work. By using passcodes through the chat system, the player will be able to progress further and discover more about the elusive Mopherius, the death of his cousin, and the path towards his possession with a group of shadow people having assisted in this downfall. Mopherius hosts his storytimes here on the last Sunday of each month, sometimes letting the audience tell their own stories.

Walkthrough[]

Story Time[]

The player spawns on a dock during a dark and rainy night with a lantern. Crossing the bridge, the player can turn left and find a statue with a familiar headband (seen in Beettsy’s games) and a sign reading, “For every fallen soldier.” Turning right instead leads to a missing person poster on a wall depicting what is most likely the storyteller, last seen on December 25th, 2018.

A set of doors beneath a sign resembling an “M” sits across from the bridge. Going through these doors leads into a room filled with chairs and a stage with its certains almost completely closed. When peeking through the small of the curtains, the player can see a shadowy figure behind a microphone stand and the phrase, “But tonight, you belong to me” written on the wall in a black running substance. There is an area with a black substance dripping off the side of the stage- going through the wall under this stage teleports the player to Hallucination.

Facing the stage, there is a note to the right reading: “A STORY TIME AT THE LAST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH!” On the same wall there is a door. Going through it, the player ends up in a hall with an easel, cleaning supplies, and a shadowy figure periodically appearing in the middle.

Continuing down the hallway, a door on the left side leads into a room with a picture of the storyteller and his cousin, hinted at in Beettsy’s Place. There is also a shelf containing a tv, a few books, and the letter “M”, along with a vanity desk holding a bowl, a clipboard, and a mouse. A picture frame containing the phrase “IT’S TIME.” hangs near a wardrobe, written on this the phrase “It’s time to go.” A small pedestal holds a jar of ink and a pen, next to this a censored paper resembling that of the missing person poster. A table in the center of the room holds a few titled books, a notable one being “THE GATE OF UMBRA”. The storyteller periodically shows up in the room, a blink and you’ll miss it occurrence.

In order to continue, the player must type in the chat box, “It’s time.” which opens the wardrobe. This leads to a narrow hall with a red carpet leading into another room containing 6 pillars. An opening covered with carpet to the right leads into a smaller room with a single table containing books and another “M”, and multiple phrases written on the wall. The writings read, “At the fall, when the leafs rest, and the Sunshine with a beam of light silences the night, a sweet girl sits with the flowers, as the bees hover by… Laughs then became whines, disgrace of a cursed sting, the young one is long gone, but the old one, remains here… The whispers, tell him to open, he refuses, then goes back to sleep, then, shivering, the sleepwalker stands, and takes a step to where darkness never ends…“ The phrase at the top is particularly important, reading “Lead me to the place I belong.” This phrase must be typed in chat in order to open the set of doors at the end of the room of pillars. Going through this door teleports the player to “Story Time?”

Hallucination[]

The player spawns in a dark room containing Mopherius, his cousin, a group of 3 bees (perhaps the 3 queen bees), and a creature with glowing white eyes. Touching this creature brings up the dialogue, “Therre is a piece of me in everrybody.”

Story Time?[]

The player spawns in a very dark room, the only light coming from the room straight ahead. Going through this carpet-covered hole leads into a narrow hallway, with writing to the left reading “Cursed bee…” The player comes out of the wardrobe and ends up in the room with the tv, though everything in here is now messy or broken- the mirror has shattered, the tv only shows static, the picture frames are crooked, and various items are scattered across the floor. Facing the tv, the door to the left leads back into a hallway. At the end of this hallway, a door to the right leads back into the stage area.

The room is still filled with chairs, but this time it is pitch black- the only light sources come from a single lantern in the center of the room and a smaller room underneath the stage. The room is boarded up but these can be pushed out of the way to access it. In this room, a skull sits on a stand, a case contains multiple books and other objects, and notes detailing characteristics of a group of shadowy entities are scattered across the floor. The intelligible notes read:

“The shadow people are mythical beings which came from a realm called, #_<!*, pretty much nothing is known about it, it’s intersection to our world is (unintelligible) during (unintelligible) aggressive when in the dark. They have a tendency of taking over any being by possessing. However, if the being it possesses is weak, the host dies. (Unintelligible) to gain more (unintelligible) and interact (unintelligible) beings.”

The stage curtains are intact, but the storyteller doesn’t seem to be present.

History[]

Story Time was created on August 15th, 2018. Since then, only minor changes have been made to the game in order to enhance the building. One of the first videos made on the game, MysticalEdgy’s, was posted on November 5th, 2018. At the time, there was a path with street lights leading to the building in Story Time rather than a bridge. Almost a year later, on September 16th, 2019, Stalzie’s video on the game was posted. The last update took place on March 29th, 2021.

Trivia[]

  • Mopherius has stated that Story Time can get crowded easily and he doesn’t know how to deal with this.
  • Hallucination is a shared place between Story Time and Beettsy’s Place, both having entry points to the world.

Theories[]

  • Ever since visiting The Gate of Umbra, Mopherius has been controlled by the beings.
    • The Gate of Umbra is one book that the player can see on the nightstand backstage. While searching for a new story to tell, Mopherius stumbled into the Gate of Umbra and, after entering it, began to change. He would do what the shadow people behind The Gate of Umbra wanted, which by all accounts seems to be spreading their control as far as possible.
