"Dolor. Timor. Miseriae." ― StultusEst

StultusEst is the leader of Atrium Miseriae. He is known for playing mind games and psychologically tormenting players. His story starts with the Book of Whims and his resurrection as a Card..

Biography[]

StultusEst is the number zero Card of the Hall, The Fool. In the tale of The Boy and The Book, around 1,500 years ago there was a young boy born into a poor family. As he grew up, he would run off to a hidden cave in the woods, looking for an escape from all the disease, crimes and horror of the middle ages. He thought he was the only one who knew of his hiding spot. One day, however, he found a book inside. Upon opening the book, "words swam and twisted unnaturally and a symbol was burned into the boy's thoughts." A voice offered the boy a deal, and he received revenge on the one who wronged him, and became a king until he died. Upon his death, he became a Card and was trapped in The Hall, where he is stuck in a purgatory state with the other cards.

History[]

According to Flamingo’s video “Roblox’s Disturbing Castle…”, StultusEst makes several appearances throughout the myth. Allegedly, he was one of HeWhoShouldNotBNamed’s “Children.” At that time, StultusEst's soul was tied to The Castle myth before he moved on to create his own myth.

Appearance[]

Stultus is dressed in a half and half suit, being blue and gold diamond patterns on one side, and black on the other, with the same colors on the Midnight Jester mask he wears. He has a blue cape that extends down to his feet and underneath it is the symbol of chaos. On his right shoulder is an simple pauldron, while on his left torso is some sort of wound. The clothing he wears is named Bound and the wound is named Reminder. The outfit is named War.

Personality and Traits[]

Stultus is deeply conniving and manipulative. Most of the time, The Fool embodies chaos, reveling in the suffering around him. He presents himself as a cold-hearted, powerful figure, frequently challenging players to duels or engaging in mind games. He has been known to stalk players from the shadows, inducing insanity and forcing them to kill each other. However, at very rare moments, he does have a soft side that is either lost or being repressed dramatically to avoid suspicion of a higher hierarchy. He's also known for his very slow and dramatic turns while also being constantly serious and still.

Abilities[]

  • Shadow

An ability shared amongst all Cards, he fades into the shadows and becomes invisible.

  • Mimicry

A favorite game of his, he enjoys taking on the appearance of other players, or a person from their friend's lists, and attempts to convince them he is a friend, so that he can turn on them later, inducing despair.

  • Visions

Visions are unique to Stultus and Stultus only. Other Cards like the Magician can teleport and mimic others, but only Stultus is able to do this. When he's irritated or threatening, red text with different phrases will appear and disappear. Canonically the player is supposed to be confused and dizzy, even cold. The phrases include "An old song behind the well. / it speaks in tounges. / Visions of midnight and gold / He's here / Endless woe / Fear, fear, fear, fear, / Nothing but despair / Miseriae / Dolor / Timor / Voices / He's near / I'm trapped / Approaching / Whispers / Pain... so much pain... my head... / Visions of death / I'm... so cold..."

  • Petrify

Not used very often, if used at all, but he can completely everything around him. You become unable to move for about 20 seconds, yet you can speak.

  • Possession

Stultus can take complete control of the player's body, and the player will not be unable to move or speak, only watch.

Stultus is the owner of Atrium Miseriae and has the rank "The Fool".

Relationships[]

AModestEgg[]

Modest, also known as The Magician is the 1st card of the Hall, also called Modest, and is arguably the most kind and upbeat. Stultus often intentionally avoids the Magician or will otherwise chastise him. He seems to find the Magician irritating, bad at his job, and other harsh words, but sometimes watches his magic shows and was even once featured in one.

RaphaelInPenance[]

Raphael is the 13th Card, Death. Stultus strongly dislikes him, and they are almost complete opposites. Raphael talks about how much he hates anybody who follows Stultus like a dog. TYet they don't interact much, and almost tend to avoid each other.

QuibbletheGecko[]

Justice is the 8th Card, and fits their role perfectly. They are sometimes seen fighting or warning Wanderers about getting too close to Stultus, and begging them to leave The Hall so they won't get trapped in the same cycle he is.
