"--Welcome to Taco Town!--" ― Taco Town

Taco Town is a small settlement composed almost entirely of objects which are made of tacos. This includes cars, houses and people. The large, focal point of the settlement is TaCo’s headquarters where they claim to make and distribute tacos to everyone who needs them. However, a secret, alternative goal is present within TaCo which is far more sinister and disturbing than one could ever imagine.

Overview[]

Taco Town is a game created by HeadOfTaCo. TaCo makes tacos for everyone in the world to enjoy. However, the tacos are not what they seem. Made out of lettuce, taco shells, cheese and human heads, these tacos deviate slightly from the normal taco making process. Their secret mission involves hiring people, cooking them and feeding them to the rest of society. They then aim to control the population and repeat their steps.

They are close to their goal too. With 70% of the population under their grasp and the remaining 30% needing to be found, it won’t be long before they reach their end goal. Their current objective is to locate the survivors and they hypothesize that they are somewhere under the town.

The main gameplay gimmick in this game is the usage of various different ciphers that can be found on notes throughout each room. These include more commonly used ciphers, such as Morse code and Caesar cipher, to the lesser used ciphers, tap code and atbash.

Walkthrough[]

Upon spawning into the game, the player will find themselves in a parking lot with a few taco cars surrounding them and a road leading up to TaCo. The player must walk behind TaCo, speaking to the NPCs along the way if desired, to find a sheet of paper next to the bins. The sheet of paper will read: “117 143 141 164”. This is Octal or Base8. Deciphering this will give the player the phrase “ocaT”. The player must then walk back to the front of TaCo, type the phrase into the chat and the door should then open, granting them access.

Inside the door, the reception to TaCo can be found. ReceptionTaco can be found behind the counter along with a taco clock pointing to roughly 11:15. On the right side of the counter at the very back, a sheet of paper should be waiting for the player to find it. It reads: “112 114 111 99”. This is Decimal code and upon being deciphered will read as “proc”. The player must say this in the chat and the next door will open.

The next room the player enters is a storage room. There are shelves loaded with boxes scattered all around the room. There are actually two codes to find here. The code to progress can be found in the back left of the room in a box. The note found reads: “-... / - .---” and then a line below it: “Hint: Two is better than one”. Deciphering the morse code will give you an answer of “b tj” and using ROT1 on it will give you the final answer of “a si”. Saying this will allow the player to proceed to the next room.

The other code in the room can be found on top of one of the shelves closer to the door. It’s on a note that reads: “ZmgrGzxlXlik”. This is known as Atbash cipher and when deciphered will read as “AntiTacoCorp”. Saying this in the chat will open up a secret doorway on the right wall of the room. Within it are two notes and a picture of a statue from outside. This is attempting to tell the player that the statue outside is “Code activated” as one of the notes says.

The next room contains the conveyor where the tacos are put into boxes to be sent off for packaging along with more shelves of boxes. The note here can be found behind the conveyor closest to the exit door. It reads: “xtcfxmqzznqq” and then a line below that, “TACO”. This is Vigenere cipher with the keyword being TACO. Deciphering it will give you the answer of “etaremolgnoc”. Saying this phrase will open the door, allowing the player to proceed.

The next room the player will find themselves in is the kitchen. This is where they first find out about what the taco meat really is. On one of the shelves next to the door, another note can be found. On the note, it reads: “.... … . ….. .. …. … . / .. . … ….”. This is Tap Code and once deciphered will read as “seil fo”. Saying this phrase will grant the player access to the final room.

In the next room, the player will find a horseshoe-shaped table and a large monitor emitting red light and static noise. A few notes can be found around the room, detailing the plans of TaCo and speaking of locating the survivors. At this point, the player has finished progressing through TaCo itself and must reset.

Upon respawning, the player should walk through the town as before. This time however, they should take a left turn at a dirt path and walk up to the statue and Tacob. They must reverse all of the previous codes they have found (excluding AntiTacoCorp) and form a sentence with them. They must then say “Taco corp is a conglomerate of lies” and the statue will fade out of existence temporarily. In place of the statue, a trapdoor into the floor can be found. Touching this will teleport the player to “The Badlands”.

Upon spawning, the player will be greeted with a desolate wasteland of a place. The sky is murky, the area is barren and is shrouded in a thick layer of brown fog. There are three main attractions in this place. A tall, broken building on the right of the road, “Jeremy’s Quick Stop”, found on the right of the road and the statue from the previous game further along on the left side of the road.

The player must go behind Jeremy’s Quick Stop and they will see a back door. They must enter. Inside the place, a pinboard with two notes can be found and a door with a keypad. The notes read: “4 Number Code?” and “Look to the glowing signs”. The glowing signs part refers to the large sign saying “Jeremy’s Quick Stop” outside where four of the letters are glowing subtly. These four letters are E, E, I and C. How to use these for the code is unknown as of now. The code to the locked door is 2948 but behind the door is simply a solid wall which can not be interacted with.

History[]

Taco Town was created on the 7th of November, 2018. This is assumed to not be the actual date of creation for what the game is today. The actual time Taco Town was a thing is unknown. However, the first mention of the game in the popular myth hunting group, Robloxian Myth Hunters, was its first documented hunt on the 29th of April, 2021.

On the 10th of November, 2021, Taco Town was updated to have a second place which can be found by reversing all codes found and forming a sentence with them. This will take you to the new place: “The Badlands”.

Trivia[]

  • The tacos that can be seen have ingredients not listed in the ingredients list in them.
  • All of the NPCs' names have the word “Taco” in them.

Theories[]

  • The NPCs, such as Tacob and MrTacoma, were once normal humans.
    • The heads that are stored in the kitchen are all the heads of normal people.
    • The imperative, “control them”, found in the meeting room could possibly be a reference to turning the people into taco people, making them easier to control by a taco company such as TaCo.
