TheJubokkoTree starts in an area with a large tree in the center. There is a yellow-orange tinge with much of the screen obscured by a black fade in. Grass like plants and two smaller trees are also in the area, but do not seem to do anything. By touching parts of the roots of the larger tree, a path is opened up to a teleporter that takes the player to the game, Afterwards.
Overview[]
TheJubokkoTree is a game created by TheJubokkoTree. Within the first game there is a large tree with two smaller trees near it. There are large grasses covering the area, likely signifying that the land at this time is healthy and flourishing. After touching the roots, a floating platform appears with several smaller platforms leading to it. By touching the rocks near it a bright pillar of light shines from the temple and the second game, Afterwards is revealed. Within this new game, it is revealed that the previous area was taking place in the past, and this one is currently in the present. The tree is destroyed as sand replaces the once lush grass. Cacti dot the area as well as branches from the destroyed tree. Two grave markers stand side by side near the tree, with those beneath them being unknown. Both games go through a day and night cycle quickly.
Walkthrough[]
When the player spawns, they should walk to the roots behind the largest tree in order to make the portal appear. The hooked root behind said tree is the trigger for the portal to appear. Once triggered, the player must complete an easy but small obby in order to reach the portal. Once completed, to activate the portal the player must touch the stone on the upper left area of the platform. This will spawn the portal that leads to Afterwards. There are no other activations in Afterwards, nor any other games after it.
History[]
The main game, The Jubokko Tree, was updated from the 11th to the 28th of January in 2019. The game that it leads to, Afterwards, was created on the 13th and ceased updates as well on the 28th of January.
Trivia[]
- Neither of the games have any thumbnails or images that go with them, despite the images found in the myth’s inventory.
Theories[]
- The tree was destroyed naturally or by humans, which in turn killed the land around it.
The transition from the two games display two very different points in time. In the past the land was lush, and in the present it is nothing but a desert. Evidence in favor of the tree being destroyed naturally are the branches scattered around in Afterwards, which could signify that the tree was struck by lightning. As for evidence regarding human destruction, knowing the definition of a Jubokko tree, it is possible that the two graves were victims of the tree. When these two people were killed, the families or friends of these people took revenge on the tree, killing it and possibly the land around it.
