"An old lost video game from who knows how long ago was found in a suitcase. The video game was about a legend who lived long ago." ― The Morning Light Game Description

A war takes place between Greece and Rome. Paralos dies in this war and is later given life from the gods. He searches for his son, Amarios, a young boy who survived the war later to fall down a well and enter Wasteland. The Morning Light shows how Amarios meets his fate and how Creek (Paralos) met theirs'.

Overview[]

The Morning Light is a game created by DownAtTheCreek, and there are a total of 12 games included in the process. The player plays from the point of view of Paralos. There are varying ways of progression, including triggers, codes, riddles, and more. Each game hides pieces of symbolism that Creek claims are overlooked by hunters. Each game explains a different stage in Paralos’s search for his son, from the introduction of Amarios to the infected ones.

Walkthrough[]

The player spawn in a tall structure, surrounded by a total of 5 other structures. Here the player must climb the ladders and find a small, white orb. Clicking this orb will unlock the middle structure. On another structure a small note can be found, reading: “The name of a boy, who saw it all happen.”  On Creek’s profile some Greek text can be found, once translated it says: “The boy’s name is Amarios.”  The player should then enter the middle structure, saying the name “Amarios'' will trigger the portal.

After entering the portal the player will be teleported to “Moonlight Creek”. Here another note can be found, it reads: “They come out at night without being called. They are lost in the day without being stolen. What are they?”  The answer to this riddle is “Stars”, the player should then locate the second portal and type out the code.

The player will be teleported to “The Market”. Here they must complete two parts before progressing. On the bottom left corner of the map there is a white orb on the tree, clicking this will open a nearby structure found in the top right corner of the map. There is a note inside the structure; if translated from Greek it says “War”. The player should then locate the portal outside the home and type “War” to progress.

The player is teleported to “Wasteland” Around the map are many caged beings, the player should speak to them. Most of them are scared and hostile, if the player speaks to a caged person higher up they will say “20 71 98 43”  A portal can be found behind a large, red, chained structure. Saying “20 71 98 43” will open the portal.

The player will be brought to “The path for the cure.” Here the year is unknown and many cages are found empty around the map.  A robot can be found inside a small building in ruins. Pressing “E” will allow the player to interact with the robot.

They speak:

“Hello, I am Circuit-Bot, your personal robot.”

The player could ask, “How do I get out of this place?”

“Find the cure, and fast”

The player could also ask, “Where am I?"

“You are in [REDACTED], it has been a long time.”

Finally the player asks, “Why do you have that symbol on your chest?”

“REDACTED”

“  “

“54 36 47 82”

The player should find the portal and say “54 36 47 82” to continue.

The player is teleported to “Time.” There is a large cage, chained people are found bowing down to a large clock. The player can press “E” to speak with one of them.

They say:

“Must praise Ghadnos.”

The player can ask, “Why do you have that chain on your leg?”

“It is a part of the tirual, he likes it like this.”

The player asks, “Who is he?”

“The god of time.”

Finally the player asks, “Why?”

“He will free us, he will give us time.”

In the top right corner of the map, there is a note hidden behind a tree, it translates to “Hope” Heading over to the portal behind the clock, the player should say “Hope” to open the portal.

The player is teleported to “Alleyway” In the top left corner of the screen can be found some text, once translated from Japanese it reads: “The disease is spreading.”  The player must type the name of the disease to open the portal, they should say “Plague”

The player is teleported to “Last in the universe” A figure stands in the middle of the map, most likely Paralos, they hold a paper reading “Everyone is gone it is time to say goodbye to the world”  The player must find and touch a certain infected citizen to be teleported to the next game.

The player is then brought to “Reality?” Here they can speak with an infected figure.

The dialogue plays:

“How do I get out?”

“Jump out of the window and die.”

“Who are you?”

“I’m your worst nightmare.”

“Where am I?”

“You are in a defending station.”

The player can touch the mirror to teleport to “Hunting Area”. Pressing F can allow the player to use a flashlight. The player must follow a trial of toxic waste, touching the barrels brings the player to “Bunker.”

Once at “Bunker.” the player must touch the dark figure in the top left corner of the first room. The player will be teleported to “Tower of Peace”

At “Tower of Peace” the player needs to click a white button found in the left side of the map on a pillar. A door up at the front of the map will open. The player can find some coordinates in the bottom left hand corner of their screen, they are “36.4350 N, 28.2175 E”. When searched these coordinates show a place called “Rhodes” Saying “Rhodes” in game will open the portal. The player will be teleported back to “The Morning Light” after entering the portal, completing the loop.

Theories[]

  • In place of Amarios’s death, Paralos was granted life.
    • Amarios had supposedly died by falling into a well and entering Wasteland.
    • Shortly after, their father Paralos, was granted life after dying in the war. Paralos spends years searching for their son not knowing he is somewhere that can’t be reached. Paralos eventually gives up on their search for Amarios.
