"The clock is ticking... :)" ― RobertSmiles on the Group Shout
The Smiles Family is a very popular myth group known for being the largest myth group on Roblox, having over 300K+ members. The group was created by RobertSmiles, who is the father of the family. Arguably the most important member is SethSmiles, who hosts the original "The Smiles Household" game and is the son of Robert. There is also ClairJSmiles, MatthewJSmiles and LeoSmiles, who are Robert's remaining children. And there is also NancySmiles and DanStickman.
Apart from them there is the main antagonist of the myth, DIAM0NDEYES, and LloydJoe and Roy_Joe, who are two brothers controlled by DIAM0NDEYES. Lastly there is TheGorilla, who is the creator of The Smiles Family world. The myth was originally created in 2018, but rose to fame in 2019 when the game was revamped and the YouTuber mrflimflam played their game.
Biography[]
The Smiles Family is a myth that surrounds the father, Robert Smiles, dealing with the loss of his wife and son. Gathered from the documents on Robert Smiles' computer, they had died in a car crash. The family lived on a secluded island called Hallam Island.
Unbeknownst to the family, there was an ancient alien, "DiamondEyes" that was terrorizing the residents of the island for years. This ancient alien has been known to possess their victims, often using them as a sort of puppet, offering "favors" in return, although these favors never seemed to go through.
As the plot continues to unfold, DiamondEyes is becomes depicted as the main antagonist, later attempting to manipulate Flamingo, one of the main investigators, into killing the children in return his long-lost loved one. Albert decides not to go through with this deal and instead save the children. After DiamondEyes makes the children dissapear using their staff, it goes to chuck the staff into a pit which erases anything in it from existence. DiamondEyes then attempts to possess Albert, but after failing with the assistance of "TheGorilla", Albert instead breaks the staff, releasing the children. A battle ensues, and after Matthew's death, DiamondEyes is pushed into the pit. We then see the remaining alive people sitting on a rock, with the ghosts of the deceased looking over them.
History[]
SethSmiles, MatthewSmiIes and ClairSmiIes were created on the 11th of November, 2018. The Smiles Family group and original game were both created on the 21st of November, 2018. At first, The Smiles Family didn't gain much attention from myth hunters. This was until SamIsTwisted covered The Smiles Family on the 15th of February, 2019. Which gave a relatively big burst of popularity to The Smiles Family.
In August of 2019, The Smiles Family remade their main game, with more polished building and graphics. At this point the game would have around 300k+ visits. The Smiles Family would then be discovered by Flamingo. Flamingo then made a video on The Smiles Family on the 2nd of August, 2019. After this, The Smiles Family would gain a massive boost in popularity.
After this The Smiles Family would go on a small hiatus up until December 2019, when Dan's Diner was released. A video on this game would be created by Flamingo on the 22nd of December 2019. During the time after this, many YouTubers would go on to cover The Smiles Family, including Flamingo, Laughability, DinoNuggets and more. The finale of the Smiles Family lore would occur in February 2021, when Returning To Reality was fully released. After this, The Smiles Family was seen as retired. Unexpectedly, Dan's Diner received a full revamp in early 2022, which sparked hopes of a revive. This was also when popular Roblox YouTuber "KreekCraft" played The Smiles Family games.
This revive would happen in early 2023 when Night Watch, The Smiles Family's newest game, was released. The ending of this game teased a return of the Smiles Family, but that has not been released at the time of writing this.

Returning To Reality[]
Return To Reality is a story game based on the events of The Smiles Family which the players are the protagonists. The story of Return To Reality is set in 2013, which is 19 years after the events on Hallam Island that ended with Robert's death and the household burnt down. Following the protagonists are Seth, Matthew and Clair on their journey to defeat OcuAda.
Night Watch[]
Night Watch is a game where you play as a guardian angel whose purpose is to protect the family. The gameplay revolves around stopping an evil entity who possesses The Smiles Family's dog from harming the family by fixing tampered objects and keeping an eye on the danger level. This game brings back Matthew, Seth, Clair, Robert and The Gorilla, it also introduces the character Boxie, who is the family's dog.
Dan's Diner[]
Dan's Diner is a game where Seth, Matthew and Clair find out about Dan's secret basement in which there are 4 different codes the player must know. To get into the basement the code is 03-29-08. To get through the first stone obelisk the code is "Creator and Destroyer". To get past the second, the code is "Confronting problems is often the best solution." and to get past the third and final obelisk, the code is "Creator of Life." In most of the Smiles Family's youtuber playthroughs, the youtuber is visited by OcuAda, or DiamondEyes, and offered something they very much want, while in player gameplay, it's different. They end up travelling to Hallam Island with Dan, jumping into a giant pit, and after a long fight mentally with OcuAda, killing OcuAda.

Theories[]
- The story is incomplete.
- The myth is believed to be finished, however only its first chapter is finished. There is proof it is not finished such as the fact that the Smiles Family household's basement has scrambled text that was never seen before, added the very same day the rooms were remodeled. Also in Safe and Sound, the last room of the flashbacks, the chat is now open unlike the closed chat years before, and it is changed where it showed the characters as babies with their father at their house inside cribs, it now shows them all fully grown up with Dan coming inside the room instead. The lamp also has the same diamond eye from the cave in Dan's Diner, only featuring the glowing inside of the eye.
Trivia[]
- In Laughability, DinoNuggets, and KreekCraft's playthroughs of the story, random players were kept in game. This was revealed to be as a joke for comedic premice and has no lore significances.
- Some story beats and characters are inspired by Stephen King's The Shining.
- If you play The Smiles Household, there is a chance to get kicked for being suspicious
- The bedrooms of ClairJSmiles And SethSmiles and MatthewJSmiles has been remade.
- In KreekCraft's playthrough of the story, all of the family were reported to wear heads depicting pigs, from the famous game "Piggy". This was obviously very quickly found as a joke, and no real problems arose after this for the myth community.
