undulating peace’s main purpose is as a hub for many associated places by sakurism. Its themes center around self discovery through various artforms.
Overview[]
undulating peace is a gorgeous archipelago of different collections of art, with its center being a lone Sakura tree standing tall, something even more beautiful to draw the eyes of any talented artists and their inspiration. Players will explore the separate parts of the island, discovering shrines, artifacts, and, well, art. They will learn of ways to view themselves and the world around them through different pieces, and when they have seen all they wish to see, they may take their search to the hueseum, and dissect various colors and how they act within this world, and if the player wishes to find out the true secret behind the world itself, they will make way to the depths of the precious snow caverns, to find what is truly hidden behind the beautiful art that lies at the surface.
Walkthrough[]
undulating peace[]
When the player joins, they will be treated to an image of someone in pink with a hat, presumably sakurism, as well as their monologue which states: “Something has obfuscated their voices once more... No matter, I shall make you LISTEN.” The player will then be spawned atop a few cherry blossom petals (falling into the water at any point in the game will instantly teleport the player back to these petals) and the player’s character model will be of one random color, with their torso patterned by studs and their facial expression randomized. By moving forward they will find a large cherry blossom tree decorated all over with wind chimes and lanterns, as well as a seat for players to rest on.

More artifacts within the shrine as well as the static computer monitor, the monitor itself takes the player to ‘liberate.’
Continuing past the tree straight ahead is a narrow path leading the player underneath a Torii (Japanese style gate, found at the entrance of Shinto shrines). This will open up a bridge past the gate and a whole new island, surrounded with small trees and containing a little structure that holds various items. To the right, a red figure and a sculpture of a dog’s face stand atop pedestals. Paintings such as Mona Lisa by Leanardo hang on the left wall, and a cube and a static tv portraying a peculiar man’s face are on display. Touching the screen of the tv teleports the player to liberate.

The note beneath the dead sakura tree, identical to the one the player touched to reach this one.
From this building are two more possible routes: continuing forward, or turning back towards the tree. Continuing through the building to the other side, the player will be greeted with a bench and a note reading “am i cool yet?” Walking over the note teleports the player to a more blue-toned island resembling the beginning of undulating peace, the tree now bearing no leaves. Another note reading “am i cool yet?” sits near a root, and straight ahead is a bridge leading to an island of 7 portals. Only 4 of them are active, with (from left to right) the first rainbow-colored portal teleporting the player to hueseum, the second tinted portal teleporting the player to precious snow caverns (these two will get there own section in this walkthrough), the third shaded portal teleporting the player to transient detachment, and the fourth shaded portal teleporting the player to morality stroll.
Alternatively, the player could turn back toward the sakura tree from the building and see that another path to their left has branched off from the island. Proceeding through the path and underneath its torii will spawn rock pillars leading to a smaller island with white trees and a statue of a floating cube in the center. Clicking the cube teleports the player to witness.
The player could again turn back from the cube rather than clicking to find that straight ahead, yet another path has spawned. Continuing past the tree to this pathway will lead the player underneath another torii, spawning a narrow path to a small island containing an orange easel. Touching the easel will teleport the player to deconstruct.
liberate[]
When the player joins, they will simply be staring at a static screen with the face of a peculiar man, and a text box with red text writing out ‘Liberate Yourself.’
transient detachment[]
The player spawns in a long hallway resembling that of an airplane, with long light beams on the ceiling and seats and windows on either side of the room. The door at the end of the hallway leads into a room containing three seats that face a giant window, the stars of the night sky visible. Turning around and heading to the back of the hallway, the player will reach a room with a white entity slumped on a chair. Clicking on the entity will cause it to raise its arm.
morality stroll[]
The player is greeted with a dark with boxes of dialogue reading the following:
“morality_stroll is online.” “stelle morenti, carry on… “
“users are capable of traversing morality_core through means of scrolling. initial scans suggest ~45% chance of encountering OPERATIONAL lifeforms. even so, proceed with CAUTION. broken architecture may prove DANGEROUS. you are given the option to turn back, and exit this dead place while you still can.” “current authorization: C-29” “chance of survival: 65%”
“sentinel class “subjugation” on standby to assist with possible DENATURING. it is unlikely that such events will occur, as this place has died a long time ago.”
From here as stated near the beginning of this text, if the player scrolls down they will be met with: “proceed?”. Clicking proceed will pop up a cipher that must be translated from binary code, then caesar cipher.
“penetrate the depths of our pain.”
The translation will read the following:
“they hail stelle morenti, for it is a pleading voice in the darkness the realms call out to one another, their breaths hoarse and their tongues dry thousands, perhaps millions of artists around the world and not one who could help us stelle morenti is not a chant of hope but a cry for help”
“proceed?”
Clicking proceed will teleport the player to ‘unspace’.
unspace[]

An image of the player standing in front of the first temple-like structure within ‘unspace.’
The player spawns in a monochrome world atop a bridge surrounded by structures resembling that of chains. A warning sign floating over the bridge reads the following: “t^72URn b(ack.%%.” “thi!&@s pl(-ace is co!%mplet^tely DEN@#ATURED” “ther#@$e i@!s no@ hope to s!@ace this pl&*ace” “escape23!! while yo!u st@#!ill c2@#an”
Proceeding forward, various objects such as cubes and rotating columns litter the sky and the player will eventually reach an area of hollow structures that resembles some kind of a temple, complete with a reflection underneath the surface. Many of these temple-like structures stretch across a long distance, the landscape getting darker and darker the further the player travels. The structure that the first bridge leads into contains text at its center, reading: “I like to dance under beds. What’s under your bed?”
witness[]
The player will be greeted with yet another static screen with a picture of the moon, and a text box underneath it with blue text writing out ‘Witness yourself.’
deconstruct[]
When the player joins deconstruct, they will be staring at a picture of the Girl With a Pearl Earring by Vermeer. Behind the image in the background flash many European art pieces as well as the thumbnail for undulating peace. The text box underneath the Girl With a Pearl Earring is written in green text stating ‘Deconstruct yourself.’
precious snow caverns[]

The player’s initial spawn point.
Upon entering precious snow caverns, the player will be greeted by a screen reading “Something has obfuscated their voices once more… No matter, I shall make you LISTEN” similarly to undulating peace’s introduction screen. They will then spawn in a bright white cave filled with snow with a lantern in their toolbar labeled “color light” in Chinese. Throughout the cave, lanterns are placed on the ground and to the sides of the caverns and snowy stalagmites shoot up from the floor. Continuing forward and reaching the opening of the cave, the player will come across an obstacle course. If the player falls into the faded whiteness below it will result in their death.

The pillars the player hops across, as well as some of the collapsed houses and snowy spires in the backdrop.
The start of the course is a rotating snowflake made of ice, making the player slide when walking across. This leads to a small platform with ice spikes shooting out that the player must avoid, and once past that they must jump across a set of ice pillars.
Off to either side of this section, ice structures resembling houses can be seen atop ice blocks. After reaching the last ice column in the obby, another snowflake rotates with grey blocks on it that kill the player upon contact.

A hidden message seen at the entrance to this obstacle course.
After completing the first section of the obstacle course, the player will come across another snow cave with ice spikes shooting out of the walls and ground that must be avoided. To the left near the end of the cave is the phrase “our precious snow is melting” inscribed in the wall. Also near the end stands a torii that will disappear as the player passes through, providing them a checkpoint and opening up to a few ice beams along with one long rotating ice beam that will kill the player upon contact. The wall below the opening of the cave reads “our precious snow is dying” and ice spikes shoot up from the ground below this section.
After getting across the ice beams, the player will have to run across a sheet of ice that breaks into pieces when stood upon all while avoiding a giant ice beam spinning in the middle. This will then lead to another rotating snowflake platform along with another rapidly rotating beam of ice.
Upon completion, the player will reach yet another cave with ice spikes shooting from the ground only. This cave leads into a grey hallway containing a single portal. As the player continues, they will pass through one more torii leading to an ice bridge. This bridge leads to a snow platform with a grey structure housing a floating rotating cube and a static screen with a moon on it reading “AWAITING INPUT”. Touching the screen will activate the portal in the grey hallway, and when touched, will teleport the player to precious snow spine.
precious snow spine[]
The player spawns on a snow-covered platform filled with portals and a single spinning snowflake in the center. Portals are situated along the walls and ceiling of the place as well. 3 of the walls are structured into the appearance of a human spine with one single wall being made of ice with a snowflake imprinted.
Facing the snowflake wall, an inner portal to the top right teleports the player to “is it dead?”. The teleport further up, left of the “is it dead?” portal, will teleport the player to precious snow heart.
Other teleports on the platform may teleport to one of these places, though most teleports at the perimeter of the island will teleport the player to “wrong”.
is it dead?[]

The scene within ‘is it dead?’ Both portals take you to ‘is it?’
The player spawns in a tiny patch of snow on a grey island. Shapes in the sky resembling eyes open and close in the air, and a question floats in the center of them: “IS IT DEAD?” One portal is labelled yes while the other is labelled no, though both options will teleport the player to is it?
is it?[]
The player spawns in the same location, with the question this time reading “IS IT?” with a question mark floating between the portals. Each is again labeled yes and no, and both options will teleport the player to it was never alive in the first place.
it was never alive in the first place[]
The player will be met with a black screen and some text along with a few images. The screen reads the following:
“identification of ENTITY: [ERROR]” “unable to access information banks” “legitimacy of information: 55%” “tread lightly” “referred to by several monikers”
[image of a stop sign is placed here]
“possible portrayal”
“unknown corporeal form” “(unlikely)”
“information gathered from girl with a pearl earring concludes that entity has ability to” “interact with ARTISTS outside of unconsciousness” “-impossible-”
“ability unknown to any known entity in existence”
“interaction with movement ARTISTS has lead to extreme changes in the denizen realms” “(the DECAY))”
“several realms have begun to DENATURE as a result of the entity’s INTERACTION with the movement”
“precious snow” “the conch” “time”
“Contact with entity has been made by several of the girl’s servants”
“all have ceased to exist as a result” “(extreme danger)”
“possibly colluding with OUTSIDE forces.”
“several EYES have been placed among the J&@^^@^^^112 array to MONITOR the grown of the DECAY””
precious snow heart[]

A sample of some of the text the player will find on the ice bridge.
The player spawns on a snow-covered platform under a golden shinto shrine with a light blue bridge extending forward. Stalagmites rise from the ground surrounding the bridge, which has text on. The text reads:
“you made it this far.” “i am so proud of you.” “never give up.” “don’t stop now.” “you are an amazing individual.” “to be alive is very hard” “you’re doing great” “just carry on” “carry on living” “do it for me” “do it for you” “you are amazing” “and i love you” “i’m sorry” “that it has to be this way”
The phrases are distanced further apart as the bridge nears its end, and the player will end up on another platform with more stalagmites. A row of ice columns protruding from the ground must be jumped across and will lead the player to one more platform, this one with a small pond situated in the center with a block of ice growing and shrinking within it.
A large white-leaved tree floats behind the island and the portal closest to this tree takes the player back to precious snow spine. Jumping on the ice block in the center of the island with your color lantern held out will cause an ice column to shoot up to the right (when facing the tree) with a portal that teleports the player to precious snowfall.
precious snowfall[]
The player is greeted with several flashing winter-themed images. A white portrait of a person is depicted above a text box that reads “Be kind to yourself.”
wrong[]
The player spawns in an enclosed cave filled with snow. Text on the floor reads the following phrases:
“all you bring is pain” “you are nothing” “turn back”
At the end of the cave is a portal with a radio sitting nearby. The portal teleports the player back to precious snow spine.
hueseum[]

The three figures in Hueseum.
The player will be greeted by a screen reading “Something has obfuscated their voices once more… No matter, I shall make you LISTEN” like the previous introduction screens. They spawn in a large hallway with a tall ceiling on a rainbow square with a welcome sign floating above reading “Welcome to the Huesuem. Enjoy your stay!!!” At the back of the room stand 3 translucent figures on pedestals.
The room contains 12 portals in all, 6 on each side. Because some colors of the teleports don’t reflect the name of the game that they teleport to, each teleport will be listed by title.
Facing the back wall to the left, from closest to the spawn point to furthest: red, orange, yellow, green, brown, tint.
Facing the back wall to the right, from closest to the spawn point to furthest: blue, indigo, violet, amber, gold, shade.
red[]
The player spawns in a cloudy red world on a static island with the phrase “Red is BLIND” written on its bottom. The following dialogue float above:
“you make it easy.” “rip and tear” “let your emotions be your reason, not your ruler. You own them, own that.” “tear, make holes.” “Living life is hard, emotions can be difficult to control, sometimes difficult to feel. “burn consciousness” “life is unique to you, keep living it.”
Behind the player is a smaller static island with a portal and the dialogue “It’s okay to fail, but never give up. I believe in you.” floating above. Touching it teleports the player back to Hueseum.
orange[]

A look at the landscape in Orange.
The player spawns atop a warm, almost forest-like structure. Rings of orange figures float in the sky above the expanse. From the spawn point is a narrow bridge leading to a table with an orange sitting on a plate, and 3 graves with the following phrases written at the foot of each:
“Relax. Have an orange.” “Tender fruit, and the journey of peeling it.” “Yeah, that’s the stuff.”
Behind the area, the phrase “Orange is FREE” can be seen. The portal near the spawn point teleports the player back to Hueseum.
yellow[]
The player spawns on a giant sunflower in a yellow tinted world with a giant floating text box typing out dialogue in front of the player. The dialogue reads out the following:
“Have you ever wondered which hurts the most? Saying something and wishing you hadn’t, … or saying nothing and wished you had? I guess the most important things are the hardest things to say. Don’t be afraid to tell someone you love them. If you do, they might break your heart… if you don’t, you might break theirs. Have you ever decided not to become a couple because you were so afraid of losing what you already had with that person? Your heart decides whom it likes and whom it doesn't. You can’t tell your heart what to do. It does it on its own… when you least suspect it, or even when you don’t want it to. Have you ever wanted to love someone with everything you had, but that other person was too afraid to let you? Too many of us stay walled up because we are too afraid to care too much… for fear that the other person does not care as much, or even at all. Have you ever denied your feelings for someone because your fear of rejection was too hard to handle? We tell lies when we are afraid… afraid of what we don’t know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing we fear grows stronger. Life is all about risks and it requires you to jump. Don’t be a person who has to look back and wonder what they would have done, or could have had.”
Underneath the sunflower is a phrase reading “Yellow is BRAVE” and the portal behind the player leads back to Hueseum.
green[]

The forest in Green.
The player spawns on a small forest island with text boxes floating in the surrounding trees, each reading “i hope you are enjoying life!” Behind this island underneath the portal, the phrase “Green is ALIVE” can be found and a smaller island nearby contains two trees and a green figure. The portal teleports the player back to Hueseum.
brown[]
The player spawns in an extremely dark forest, the only light source being a lantern near the portal and a color light that the player is equipped with. The player can find a torii surrounded by bamboo with a structure at its center, a floating stone that forms the shape of a strange eye and rotates in a pattern. going back through white the portal will teleport the player to Hueseum.
tint[]
The player spawns in a vast white world. The place does not seem to contain anything of note.
blue[]
The player spawns on a small mushroom island in a blue-tinted world with the mushrooms growing and retracting. Four text boxes floating between the mushrooms read the following:
“can you feel your heart burning?” “can you feel the struggle within?” “the fear within me is beyond anything your soul can make.” “you cannot kill me in a way that matters”
Behind the island opposite of the portal is the phrase “Blue is INESCAPABLE” and the portal teleports the player back to Hueseum.
indigo[]
The player spawns in the center of a large structure made up of columns, bridges, and arches. Opposite of the portal is a large floating block of text flashing numbers. It is unclear whether this is a cipher as it doesn’t resemble any, and it seems that ciphers involving numbers cannot recognize any of the text. The bridge underneath the one that the player spawns on contains a text box reading “Indigo is FINITE” and the portal teleports the player back to Hueseum.
violet[]

The landscape of Violet
The player spawns on a large platform with pathways extending from the center into small blocky structures. Continuing straight opposite of the portal, the player will reach a structure with a purple figure standing in front with two text boxes floating beside, reading:
“No, no. This can’t be right.” “Relax. 今体過去飞寸。” (The phrase in Chinese translates to “This body is flying in the past”).
Behind the structure is the phrase “Violet is CONFUSING” and continuing back through the portal teleports the player to Hueseum.
amber[]
The player spawns on the root of a giant tree standing in the center of a structure made up of columns and lintels. A sunlit sea stretches across the world and falling into it kills the player. An amber-colored figure can be seen standing in the water behind a textbox reading “Maybe it’s better this way, Romina.” The portal sitting on the roots of the tree teleports the player back to Hueseum.
gold[]

The landscape of Gold.
The player spawns in a thermal-filtered world on a set of green panels that fall below when touched or jumped on. Absolutely nothing happens if all panels are touched—the player should not take the time out of their day doing so unless they truly feel they should.
shade[]
The player spawns in a dark world consisting only of flashing panels in the shapes of squares and triangles with a big black text box floating in the center of one of the panel sections. The text reads the following:
“WARNING: DENATURING DETECTED THIS SPACE IS UNSTABLE WE WILL MAINTAIN THIS PLACE FOR AS LONG AS WE ARE ABLE SENTINELS ARE INSUFFICIENT TO COMBAT DENATURING AT THIS CALIBER HAILING SIGNAL ‘STELLE MORENTI’ RETURN FROM WHERE YOU CAME TO THE SAFETY OF THE HUEPHYLACTIUM”
The portal teleports the player back to Hueseum.
History[]
Undulating peace was created on June 10th, 2020. While no drastic changes to the game have been documented, it can be inferred that for about a month it did not contain teleports to the places “precious snow caverns” or “hueseum” as these two games were made on July 27th, 2020 and July 31st, 2020 respectively. Undulating peace was last updated on April 30th, 2021.
Trivia[]
- A portion of the text in undulating peace is quoted directly from Angus Nicneven’s website, Terminal 00.
- The face of a peculiar man that shows up in several undulating peace games is titled “This Man”, appearing in a website in 2008 titled “Ever Dream This Man?”
Theories[]
- The goal of undulating peace may be to inspire people to think more about art and look up to artists, making them a bigger part in one’s life.
- The intro line about ‘something obfuscating their voices’ could be referring to artists and ‘No matter, I shall make you LISTEN’ would then be referring to a general audience.
- The player is then brought through a beautiful landscape and taught to liberate themselves, to take control of their own dreams in a way, then to witness themselves, observing their own talents and achievements in full, and then to deconstruct themselves, to see every beautiful part of what makes them who they are.
- The description of the associated group owned by sakurism is ‘art movement,’ which is the way undulating peace comes off when looked at in another angle.
- Various European art pieces from eras including the Renaissance make a few appearances throughout the game.
